An Anchor for the Soul

Be still, my soul
The Lord is on your side
Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain
Leave to your God
To order and provide -
In every change He faithful will remain
Be still, my soul
Your best, your heavenly friend
Through stormy ways leads to a joyful end.

Judge not the Lord by feeble sense
But trust Him for His grace
Behind a frowning providence
He hides a smiling face

Be still, my soul
Your God will undertake
To guide the future as He has the past
Your hope, your confidence let nothing shake
All now mysterious will be bright at last
Be still, my soul
For the waves and winds still know
His voice who ruled them while He walked below

So...

You fearful saints, fresh courage take
The clouds you so much dread
Are big with mercy, and shall break
In blessing on your head

Be still, my soul
Be still, my soul
Be still

"We have this hope..." ;)

It is indeed good to be still and wait patiently for the Lord.

"I wait for the Lord, my soul does wait,
And in His word do I hope.
My soul waits for the Lord
More than the watchmen for the morning;
Indeed, more than the watchmen for the morning.
O Israel, Hope in the Lord;
For with the Lord there is loving kindness,
And with Him is abundant redemption
And He will redeem Israel
From all his iniquities."
Ps. 130

This song cuts deep. I remember how the first time you, amy and your mom sang this to me I got chills. Such truth, grace, and passsion!

But one thing I must know: what was the reason or madness or occasion or whim or providence or circumstance for this post?

oh, and why are the tears flowing?

I know! I know! I just figured it out!!!!!! Oh, you have no, NO idea how excited I am. I'm glad I did my research before I read your comment!Psalms 120-134 are songs of ASCENTS!!! Oh gosh, I am now so ecstatic I can barely contain myself... oh, that the greatest of them all would come quickly...

I will tell you more about the reason behind this post tomorrow, Lord willing... and other things as well. Thank you, John, thank you. Your encouragement means so much.

We are not home yet.

hey my love... its maria... gosh this is such an emotional post, although you did warn me, I want all the more to be a comfort to you!! God has everything in control he really does... He holds everything in the palm of his hand (this includes all that your going through:) I know my comment isn't very deep (i'm sorry i'm not very good at those, more due to my incapabilty of using words to express myself) I love you with all my heart... I will be praying for constantly:)
